MANX CULINARY APPRENTICE SCHEME

The Sefton Group is proud to be working with the Visit Isle of Man Executive Agency and University College Isle of Man (UCM) to support the new ‘Manx Culinary Apprentice Scheme’ which aims to nurture and grow new Chef talent within the Island’s prospering hospitality sector.
The apprentice scheme is a 12-month programme which includes 1 day of study at University College Isle of Man and 4 days in our commercial kitchen, giving the apprentice a chance to gain valuable hands-on experience and sound knowledge from industry mentors. Whilst having prior kitchen experience will benefit applicants, there are no entry requirements for this apprentice scheme which is open to all Isle of Man residents over 16 years of age.
Successful apprentices will attain a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Professional Cookery and will have qualified to work full time within the local hospitality and catering industry.
The deadline to apply for this intake is Sunday 1 September 2019, with a start date of Monday 9 September 2019. A second intake will follow in February 2020.
